It's been awhile...

Um yeah, it's been awhile since I blogged on here. Last week I was in Utah visiting my family and the running thing kind of took a back seat. I did manage to get in 5 miles early Monday morning before our flight, and then on Wednesday my sister watched the kids so I could run. I did 4 miles on the track and finished in 33 minutes. I felt like I was super fast. It was fun. But then I spent the rest of the week eating A LOT of great food and pretty much doing nothing in the realms of exercise until today when I forced myself to hit the gym for a 4 miler. It was harder than normal (not working out and eating excessively does that to you) but I'm back and looking forward to Taber's marathon this weekend! The weather forecast says he's facing a 40 degree high and rain and snow showers that day. Can we say TROOPER!! I'll be there with bags of warm dry clothing on the trail, just in case... Despite the weather though I think he's excited ( I know I am!) He's ready and I know he'll do great!

  1. I'm kinda bummed we didn't get to see you guys while you were here! We should have driven down to PG to see you. Maybe we could have run together, although I don't think I could keep up with that pace you're pulling these days, holy cow! It does feel SO good to run that fast (I've been there only a few times). I wish I could have a consistent pace like that. I ran 3 miles on Monday and felt like I was REALLY pushing only to get an 8:40 pace. Oh well.

Wow Taber's marathon sounds like it's gonna be... fun? haha poor guy. He will have a pretty interesting story to tell when he's done, that's for sure. Tell him good luck!!

  2. Two comments...

    1. You run 4 miles at altitude...in a half hour...and you "feel" like you were going fast? SISTER PLEASE!! You were freakin' flyin'.

    2. Waiting on the trail with dry clothes for Taber...Imagine the surprise of fellow marathoners when they're catching their second wind at mile 16 in the 40 degree (Farenheit I'm assuming) chill...wait for it...wait for it...and look up to catch a little eskimo boy bumbum just off the trail! Hahahahahahaha! I said bumbum!

    Good luck Tabes!

  3. Chris is funny...hehe! Can't wait to see pics of the Marathon!
